Kriya Yoga Techniques

And The Path Of Self Mastery

Kriya yoga techniques are spiritually based yoga techniques. Followers believe it brings them a sense of balance, harmony, tranquility and purity.

Whilst it is undoubtably a spiritual journey - of sorts - it is enshrined within the premise of the "master" and his "follower", or "disciple". For example, in kriya yoga there is an "initiation", between said "master" and student. This is a one-on-one process, and is shrouded in secrecy, so no-one except those involved can really say what goes on.

I personally find such lack of transparency in the process of kriya yoga techniques, and the need to keep any technique secret, disturbing. That to me is the mark of an organization which is trying to maintain a balance of power in their favor, at the expense of the student. Many things can be hidden this way, and questions that should be asked are given no opportunity to even form themselves, and no avenue to be exposed to public scrutiny.

One's spiritual life is the utmost sacred thing each and every one of us have. Yet our ignorance in the West, of energy dynamics, our subtle and spiritual natures, and the leaning of both our social and conventional religious institutions in almost encouraging us to feel powerless, that we need an external "authority" - all these things almost prepare the ground for those seeking a greater understanding of themselves and their place in the Cosmos to fall into so called spiritual groups that deny the fundamental reality of our own latent spiritual mastery.

Encouraging servitude doesn't lead to the path of self actualization. Encouraging ignorance of one's own innate capacity by poorly describing the types of energy accessed in meditations and initiations, doesn't lead to a student of spirituality growing into the innate potential they already have.

concerns about kriya yoga techniquesThere are good programs around that teach us all how to access our own spiritual natures, our own God-Source. We cannot access that in another, no matter what 'glamour' or sense of mysticism any other person has adopted. We all live in a world that teaches us to place our power outside of ourselves, and that has not brought us any closer to a sense of truth or "God". Continuing that cycle, by looking to someone who calls themselves a "master" (or whom others call a "master"), is simply going to perpetuate the meaninglessness and sense of disconnection we may feel anyway.

Developing one's relationship to Source, embarking on the journey of self actualization in the most spiritual sense of the word, is a bit like working out at a gym. We need to do the right exercises ourselves, including conducting ourselves in a spiritual manner, and we need to do it regularly. No-one else can do it for us, and there are no short cuts. Just as taking steroids, trying to get a 'quick fix', has terrible effects on your health, so there are consequences to getting involved with certain spiritual practices.

There are different types of energy. Not all energy comes from Source, or is aligned with Source. And thus, not all energy will enable you to grow spiritually. Thus, if a group is not showing you their spiritual resume, or being upfront about their practices - or being vague to the point of meaninglessness - then that raises a red flag.

If you're interested in learning more about energy, or you'd like some meditation and spiritual growth techniques that firmly place your power within yourself, then check out the technique on this site (under meditation on the nav bar), or go straight to www.azuritepress.com which is where it came from.

Kriya yoga techniques are described as being enshrined in the history of India. However, history is a somewhat muddy lineage. Historians often say that history is written by the conquerors. So, of itself, history is not necessarily a marker of a Source-connected consciousness.

Kriya yoga technique programs consist of an introductory lecture, an "initiation" into kriya yoga, followed by at least 3 group meditations supervised by a kriya yoga mentor called a Yogacharya. A Yogacharya is someone authorized by Paramahamsa Prajnananandaji.

Kriya yoga techniques aim to "control" the life force by moving it up and down the spine. They are no doubt working with kundalini energy, which can be safely activated by oneself using the Emerald and Amethyst Awakening.  You'll need to do theEckasha Maharic Seal immediately before you do it, and it's a good idea to do this regularly anyway .
